Beyond the Song: a Letter from Anthony

Promise We’ll Meet Again is easily the biggest challenge I gave myself during the making of Forget-Me-Not. The concept was very simple to me: create two distinct compositions (which are Arrival of Spring and Wildest Winter) and let them be fully independent pieces, with their own story to say that is what each character would want to say through dialogue; from introspection to showcasing their development, to current thoughts they have. But also, I wanted to have these two pieces able to be played simultaneously to form what ended up being Promise We’ll Meet Again: a musical conversation between two best friends. This song was the first time I tried going into classical music, even if it is a very modern take on it, and I couldn’t be prouder of it or love it more.
