Beyond the Song: a Letter from Anthony

Spring is coming has changed a lot during its life, especially the single version. I learned a lot while recording it, especially regarding songwriting and recording. I wanted the song to be kind of reminiscent of J-Pop and Anime openings, since I wanted to celebrate the medium as a whole through Forget-Me-Not, and I feel really proud of the end result. I wanted the song to be some sort of extension of the character of Lucas, who doesn’t really say out loud what he is feeling and hides behind quick answers. He hides very complex feelings that keep building up: an irrational fear of being left behind, desperation that leads him to do something wrong, while he feels like he has absolutely no other choice, shame because he knows that what he is doing is wrong, and guilt because there is a part of himself that still wants to do it. He is his own worst enemy.
